Cookie & Storage Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Letterbrawl saves a few small pieces of data in your browser. Some are cookies. Others are in "local storage", which stays on your device and is not sent to us automatically. This page lists all of them.
Our two categories
- Strictly necessary: the game cannot work without these. They are always on and do not need consent. We do not use them for tracking.
- Visit statistics: Vercel Web Analytics counts visits without setting cookies. It is also off by default and runs only if you click "Accept".
- Page speed: Vercel Speed Insights measures how fast pages load. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not identify or count visitors, so it is always on.
- Analytics: Google Analytics. These are off by default. They are only set if you click "Accept" or switch Analytics on in the cookie settings.
We do not use advertising or social media cookies.
Full list
| Name | Type | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
lb_session | Cookie (HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax) | Letterbrawl | Keeps you signed in to your account. Without an account, it holds a random guest ID, so your rating, power-ups and games are kept. Signed so it cannot be changed. Scripts cannot read it. | Strictly necessary | About 30 days, or until you sign out |
lb:name | Local storage | Letterbrawl | Remembers the display name you typed. | Strictly necessary | Until you clear it |
lb:pid:<ROOM> | Local storage | Letterbrawl | Your player ID in a game room, so you can rejoin the same seat after a reload. | Strictly necessary | Until you clear it (the room itself ends 6 hours after the last activity) |
lb:intro | Local storage | Letterbrawl | Remembers which steps of the training guide you have already seen. | Strictly necessary | Until you clear it |
lb:friend | Local storage | Letterbrawl | Keeps a friend invite code from an invite link until you sign in, so the friend can be added. | Strictly necessary | Until you sign in |
lb:consent | Local storage | Letterbrawl | Remembers your cookie choice and when you made it. | Strictly necessary | Until you clear it or we change our cookie notice |
_ga | Cookie | Google (Google Analytics) | Tells visitors apart with a random ID, to count visits. | Analytics (consent) | 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Cookie | Google (Google Analytics) | Keeps track of the current visit (session). | Analytics (consent) | 2 years |
Google Consent Mode
Before you make a choice, we tell Google that all storage is "denied". The Google Analytics script is not loaded at all until you accept. If you later withdraw consent, we tell Google that analytics is denied, stop sending data, and delete the _ga cookies.
How to change your choice
Use the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, or click here: .
Rejecting analytics is as easy as accepting it. Withdrawing consent does not affect what happened before.
You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you delete the strictly necessary items, you will be signed out and a guest rating saved only in this browser may be lost.
